Apple Crumble
Ingredients you will need:
- 6 green apples
- 9 tsp sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 clove
Crumble Topping - 1/2 cup self-raising flour
- 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
- 45 gm butter, cut into cubes
- 1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
How to make this recipe:
- Preheat the oven to 180C or 350F.
- Peel, core and chop the apples and place in a saucepan with the sugar, clove and water. Cook over medium heat, until apples, are just tender. Pour into an oven-proof dish.
- Place the flour, cinnamon, and butter into a bowl. Rub in butter lightly, until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Then add brown sugar, and mix thoroughly to combine. Sprinkle crumble topping evenly over the apples.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until topping is golden brown. Allow it to cool slightly before serving.
Serving Suggestions: Serve with Cream, Ice Cream or Custard.
