Apple Crumble







Preparation Time: 15 minutes

Cooking Time: 25-30 minutes 

Makes: 4 Serves

Ingredients you will need:

  • 6 green apples
  • 9 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 clove 

    Crumble Topping

  • 1/2 cup self-raising flour
  • 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 45 gm butter, cut into cubes
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed

How to make this recipe:

  1. Preheat the oven to 180C or 350F. 
  2. Peel, core and chop the apples and place in a saucepan with the sugar, clove and water. Cook over medium heat, until apples, are just tender. Pour into an oven-proof dish.
  3. Place the flour, cinnamon, and butter into a bowl. Rub in butter lightly, until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Then add brown sugar, and mix thoroughly to combine. Sprinkle crumble topping evenly over the apples. 
  4. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until topping is golden brown. Allow it to cool slightly before serving. 

Serving Suggestions: Serve with Cream, Ice Cream or Custard.
