Buttermilk Waffles
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 60 minutes
Serves: 4-6 (2 waffles per serve)
Ingredients you will need:
- 2 cups Self-Raising Flour
- 1 tsp Salt
- 2 tbsp White Sugar
- 2 Eggs
- 1.5 cups Buttermilk
- 1/3 cup Butter or Margarine, melted
- 1 tsp. Vanilla Essence
How to make this recipe:
- Pre-heat your waffle maker
- Mix all ingredients in a large bowl until mixed and you can't see any lumps of flour. Its ok if the mixture has a few lumps
- Butter slices of bread on both sides and cut in half diagonally
- Place 1/3 - 1/2 cup of waffle mixture onto waffle iron and cook for 3-5 minutes until golden and fluffy
Serving Suggestions: Serve fresh out of waffle maker with butter and pancake/maple syrup and fresh berries or other toppings of your liking.
