Old Fashion Browned Butter Biscuits


  • 125 gm Butter
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • 1 egg. Beaten
  • 1 tsp. Vanilla
  • 1.5 cups Self-rising flour
  • 24 Glace Cherries 
Step 1. Preheat oven to 180C and line a baking tray with baking paper.

Step 2. Melt butter in a saucepan until light brown. You should smell a nutty aroma coming from the pan, but be careful not to burn. 

Step 3. Add sugar and beat well, then stir in Egg and Vanilla. Then add flour and mix to a stiff dough 

Step 4. Roll mixture into teaspoonful balls and place baking tray (these do spread a little, so keep space between them) 

Step 5. Place half an almond or cherry on each biscuit and bake 15-20 minutes or until golden brown underneath.
