IKEA Secret Meatballs Recipe
- 500 gm Beef Mince
- 250 gm Pork Mince
- 1 Onion, grated
- 1 Garlic clove, grated
- 100 gm Breadcrumbs
- 1 Egg
- 3.5 tbsp. Milk
- Salt & Pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp. Oil, to brown meatballs
- 40 gm Butter
- 40 gm Plain Flour
- 150 ml Vegetable Stock
- 150 ml Beef Stock
- 150 ml Thickened Cream
- 2 tsp. Soy Sauce
- 1 tsp. Dijon Mustard
Step 2. Shape into small round balls. Place on a clean plate, cover and refrigerate for 2 hours (this will help them hold their shape)
Step 3. Heat oil in an frying pan over medium heat. Add meatballs and brown on all sides, then place in an oven proof dish and bake at 180 C for 30 minutes.
Step 4. In the meantime, melt butter to a small pan, whisk in flour and cook for 2 minutes. Add the vegetable stock, beef stock, stirring continuously. Then add cream, soy sauce and mustard. Bring to a simmer and allow to thicken.
Step 5. Serve meatballs with cream sauce. I like to also serve them with mashed potatoes or homemade french fries.
