ANZAC Biscuits
- 190 gm Rolled Oats
- 150 gm Plain flour
- 165 gm Sugar
- 125 gm Butter
- 1 heaped Tbsp. Golden Syrup or Honey
- 1 tsp. Baking Soda
- 2 tablespoons hot water
Step 1. Preheat oven to 160 C and line two baking trays with baking paper.
Step 2. To a bowl add the rolled oats, plain flour, sugar and mix well to combine.
Step 3. In small saucepan, add the butter and golden syrup or honey. Place over a low flame on the stove and allow to melt.
Step 4. Add the melted butter mixture to the dry ingredients. Right before mixing, add the baking soda to the hot water and mix gently to combine, then add it this to the rest of the ingredients. Mix all of the ingredients together until you can't see any more dry flour.
Step 5. Portion heaping tablespoons of the dough onto your baking trays (i like to roll them into ball, but you don't have to). Place the dough balls about 4-5 cm apart, as they do spread quite a lot.
Step 6. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown. Allow to cool and enjoy with a cup of tea!
