Pumpkin Pound Cake



This is one of my favourite cakes. The spices make you feel all warm and cosy inside when you eat it and it sends the most delicious scent accross your kitchen as it bakes. The pumpkin puree makes this cake moist and it's serves well with a big cup of hot chocolate.

Total Time: 20 minute prep + 55 minutes baking

To make this recipe you will need:

  • 2.5 cups All purpose flour
  • 2 tsp. Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp. Baking Soda
  • 1/4 tsp. Salt
  • 2/3 cup Unsalted Butter
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed Brown Sugar
  • 1 1/4 tsp. ground Cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. ground Nutmeg
  • 1/4 tsp. ground Cloves
  • 1 1/3 cups Pumpkin Puree
  • 3 Large Eggs
  • 1.5 cups Icing Sugar
  • 4 1/2 tsp. Water
  • 1/4 cup Pumpkin Seeds *Optional
