Vanilla Butter Cake Recipe
I found this recipe in an recipe book that I took from my Mums house, that she got back in the 1980's. An edition of Family Circle's Muffins, Scones & Teacakes. It's a buttery delicious moist butter cake thats great served by itself or with whipped cream and strawberries.
To make this you will need:
Cake
Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla and combine. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Add a third or the flour and mix in gently. Alternate flour the addition of flour and milk, beginning and ending with flour.
Add mixture to the tin and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a skewer inserted into the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool.
Once the cake has cooled to room temperature, prepare the icing by beating together all of the ingredients until smooth.
Spread over the cooled cake and enjoy!
