The Bissell SpotClean

Who would have thought that this week, I'd fall head over heels for two cleaning machines. First, the Kmart 2200W bagless, multi-cyclonic vacuum with HEPA filter, and now, the Bissell SpotClean. I've been wanting to wash my carpets for a long long time. My problem was that a rental steam cleaner from Woolworths/Bunnings  would be too big to fit into my tiny apartment.  Some of the ones that you can buy, are smaller, but I've got nowhere to store it. After getting home from work Tuesday night, and finding a kitty accident on my living room rug, I knew that I needed to find something, enter the Bissell SpotClean. After much research on the internet and many good reviews and results found on YouTube, I knew that this product was for me. It was small enough for me to store, but powerful enough to shampoo my carpets clean. So $200 later, I had myself a carpet cleaner.

The product itself is very compact and straight forward to use. No lengthy instructions required. It all  fits together nicely and Bissell have thought of everything to make sure that it's extremely portable and all the attachments (it comes with a 3 inch and 6 inch extraction handles) and cords have a place to live neatly on the machine itself. You can simply pick it up by the handle, move it, plug it in and you're good to go. It even came with a full size bottle of oxyclean solution and small bottle of stain concentrate. I then also purchased pet stain and odour solution, which made my carpet and room smell especially clean.

Like the vacuum cleaner, I was very impressed with how clean my carpet and rug was after I had used this product. After vacuuming first, I got to work cleaning the carpets. The machine is primarily for spots, stains, and smaller areas, it's not designed to clean large areas. So if you've got many rooms covered in carpet and you want to do it all at the same time, I would recommend you go with one the larger carpet cleaning machines. It took about an hour to clean a 3m x 4m bedroom with wall to wall carpeting. I could not believe how much came out out of my carpet. Being someone who is house proud and vacuums daily, I was mortified that this mess existed in my home. Look at the colour of the water in that glass! Yuck!

I wish I had known that this product existed sooner. I would definitely had purchased one and shampooed my carpet, way before now. I'm also keen to use this on my cars upholstery. I've never been able to justify the $70 - $100 to have my car professionally steam cleaned, just once. I'm hoping the results will be just as impressive as those inside my house.

In my opinion this is totally worth the investment and it's something that I know i'll be using regularly.
